The Naora leg begins when you board the Eighty2. The journey to the boarding port is your responsibility and we guide you through every step of it. Not because the flight booking and the airport transfer are complicated, they are not, once the specific information about the boarding port and the timing and the options is in front of you.
But because the offshore sailing voyage departs from ports that are not always the major hub airports of the world, and the member who arrives at the wrong airport or misses the transfer window or books the hotel on the wrong side of the city for a departure that leaves from the other marina deserves to have had that conversation before it became the problem it is currently being.
The logistics guidance is part of the pre-boarding package that every member receives when the leg is confirmed. It contains: the specific boarding port and marina details, the recommended arrival window relative to the departure date, the flight routing options that work for the specific boarding location, the airport code and the transfer distance to the marina, the hotel recommendations for the night before departure, and the specific transfer options (taxi, Uber, local arranged transport that the boarding port makes available).
This is the package that converts the unfamiliar boarding port into the logistics that the member can execute confidently rather than nervously.

Why Arriving the Day Before Matters
The recommended arrival is the evening before the departure date. Not the morning of, the morning of is the arrival that works when everything works and is the disaster when one thing does not. The flight delay, the baggage that went to a different destination, the taxi driver who does not find the marina entrance in the dark: these are the scenarios that the evening-before arrival converts from the missed departure to the mildly inconvenient story you tell at the first dinner.
The Eighty2 will not hold the departure for the member whose flight landed two hours before the boat was supposed to leave. It will wait the morning for the member who arrived the evening before, slept in the recommended hotel two minutes from the marina, and is on the dock at the agreed time with their bag and their DAN card and their sea legs ready to find.
I am the person at Naora who handles the pre-boarding logistics. If something goes wrong between the flight booking and the marina dock, I am the number you call. Not a contact form. Not a ticketing system. My number, in the pre-boarding package, available until the moment the boat departs.
