Everything on the Boat Is Included. Here Is What Is Not.

The Naora membership is all-inclusive from the moment you board to the moment you disembark. The berth, the meals, the diving programme with tanks filled from the onboard compressor, the water sports equipment, the snorkelling and freediving programme, the dinghy transfers to and from the shore, the Circle membership and everything it provides: all of this is covered.

You will not find an invoice waiting for you at the end of the leg for the dinners you ate on the boat or the dives you did from the platform or the hours you spent on the SUP board in the lagoon. On the boat, you are covered.

What is not included is everything that happens on the other side of the dinghy: the life of the places the route visits, in the specific form that the places offer it to the person who arrives by sailing boat and steps ashore to engage with them. The village market. The restaurant at the waterfront. The local guide who knows the trail that the map does not show.

The tribal contribution that opens the door to the community’s daily life in ways that the tourist visit never does. The national park entry fee that the permit system requires from every visitor regardless of how they arrived. The museum in the town. The souvenir that you want to bring home. The cold beer at the bar on the dock in Barbados on the evening the Atlantic crossing ends.

Why This Is Not a Limitation

The personal expenditure ashore is not the gap in the Naora experience. It is the texture of the local world that the offshore boat reaches and that the all-inclusive resort, by including everything, systematically removes from the experience of the place.

The resort that includes all meals also removes the need to find the restaurant that the fisherman eats at, which is the restaurant that the best meal of the trip comes from. The tour package that includes all excursions also removes the need to negotiate the price of the local guide’s services at the trailhead, which is the negotiation that produces the conversation that produces the friendship that produces the invitation back for the following morning.

Budget a modest daily amount for the personal expenditures ashore, the specifics depend on the leg and the region and your own appetite for local engagement.

The Naora team provides the practical guidance on what to expect in each region before the leg. The boat is the home. The shore is the world the home is anchored next to. The home is included. The world costs what it costs
