You Don’t Have to Sail the Whole World. Just the Part That Calls You.

You Don’t Have to Sail the Whole World. Just the Part That Calls You.

The Naora circumnavigation is 45,000 miles across five years. No single member is expected to sail all of it. Most will not. The voyage is not designed as the thing that one person does in its entirety: it is designed as the thing that many people each do in the part that fits their life, their calendar, their curiosity, and the specific moment in their professional and personal trajectory in which the part they choose is the right part to choose.

This is a different design from the expedition that requires full commitment for full participation. The full Naora commitment is the five-year circumnavigation that Sven and the core crew make: the commitment of the people whose professional life is the voyage itself and who have structured everything else around the fact that the boat departs Bodrum in May 2027 and returns five years later.

For the member of the Circle, the commitment is the leg: one week, two weeks, three weeks, the specific chapter of the circumnavigation that the member boards and departs at the ports the route provides. Everything between the boarding and the departure is the voyage at its most complete. Everything outside it belongs to the life the member returns to.

The Part That Calls You

The part of the Naora voyage that calls the member is the part that the member recognises as the chapter of the circumnavigation that their specific combination of curiosity and timing and desire makes available to them. For the member who has been reading about the Tuamotu atolls for twenty years and who has a three-week window in the autumn of 2029 when the voyage is in the Pacific, the Pacific chapter is the part that calls.

For the member whose professional life is organised around the Asian markets and who joins the Indonesian archipelago leg in 2030 to be in the waters they have been flying over for a decade, the Indonesian chapter is the part that calls. For the member who wants the pure offshore passage experience without the cultural complexity of the port-intensive Mediterranean legs, the Atlantic crossing is the part that calls.

The part that calls is not determined by what the voyage needs from the member. The voyage is complete regardless of which chapter the member chooses. It is determined by what the member needs from the voyage: the specific quality of the offshore experience that the chosen chapter produces and that the member’s life has been building toward without always knowing that it was building toward it. The Naora voyage is the canvas. The member’s chapters are the composition they make from it.

On Every Continent, In Your Chapters

The Naora route touches every inhabited continent and every major ocean across its five years. The Mediterranean and the Atlantic connect Europe and the Americas. The Pacific connects the Americas and the Polynesian world. The Indonesian archipelago connects the Pacific and the Indian Ocean at the heart of Southeast Asia.

The Indian Ocean connects Southeast Asia and East Africa and the Arabian world. The Red Sea returns the route to the Mediterranean from which it departed. The member who chooses a single chapter from this route is choosing a chapter in the context of the whole: boarding at a point where the five-year arc has already brought the boat to, departing at a point from which the five-year arc will continue. The chapter is complete in itself and part of something larger simultaneously.

You do not have to sail the whole world. The whole world is available. You choose the part that calls you. The call is the beginning. The conversation with Antony is the next step. The leg that fits your life and your timing and your curiosity is the step after that.
